Offensive linemen make All-American teams

Reese, Tolbert recognized for their efforts

Matthew Reese (#62) was named to the American Football Coaches Association Division II All-America team, while Christopher Tolbert (#74) was named to the Sheridan Broadcasting Networks Black College All-America team. Both were selected to the 2013 All-SIAC First-Team at the end of the 2013 season.
A pair of Tuskegee offensive linemen have been recognized for their outstanding efforts in Tuskegee's historice 2013 season during the 2014 offseason.  Matthew Reese and Christopher Tolbert have been respectively recognized by the American Football Coaches Association and the Sheridan Broadcasting Network as First-Team All-Americans on the offensive line.  The duo combined for two of the five first-team spots on the 2013 SIAC All-Conference Team, and the awards are providing recognition for the pair of student-athletes as two of the premier offensive linemen in all of NCAA Division II.

Tolbert was recognized by the Sheridan Broadcasting Network on Wednesday.  The Black College All-America team is assembled by SBN along with the help of American Urban Radio Networks.  He is the only lineman on either side of the football to represent the SIAC, and is one of two Division II offensive linemen to be selected for the honor, along with Michael Sabb of Winston-Salem State.  Every other lineman on either side of the ball for the 2013 SBN All-American team comes from a Division I HBCU.

Additional offensive linemen set to join Tolbert on the SBN All-American team include Kadeem Edwards of Tennessee State, Alex Monroe of Bethune-Cookman and Issac Sampson of Alcorn State.  Dexter Moody was the only other SIAC represented voted onto the team, as the Albany State defensive back was one of four cornerbacks named to the secondary.

Reese was recognized by the AFCA, and was chosen as the only HBCU representative to the Division II All-America Team that was announced in November.  The AFCA typically announces their All-America teams just before national championships are played in the NCAA annually.  He is one of two juniors selected amongst the five linemen, as Cole Manhart of Nebraska Kearney was the only other representative in Reese's class.

Additional offensive linemen joining Reese on the AFCA All-American team include William Wright of West Georgia, Matt Armstrong of Grand Valley State (Mich.) and Mike Nelson of Central Washington.
